Prague has some beautiful old-world cafes to explore while there. They are a great place for a break and to enjoy a coffee, pastry or full meal. Our top finds include:

Cafe Imperial: Located in the Imperial Hotel, this is a gorgeous cafe with amazing ceilings. Na Porici 15.

Grand Cafe Orient, located in the House of the Black Madonna: The cafe was opened in the 1920’s and then closed for 80 years. The building was part of the Czech Cubist movement that was built between 1911 and 1912 by Josef Gocar. It reopened ten years ago and retains many aspects of the original building, including bar, furniture, lights and lanterns. It is a lovely spot for a coffee or tea and a pastry. Ovocny Trh 19.

Cafe Savoy: Part of the Ambiente Restaurant group, this is a beautiful, old-world cafe with wonderful painted ceilings dating back to 1894. It is south of the Castle and Charles Bridge. It is known for its breakfasts and fresh confectionery and bakery products. Make sure to walk downstairs to the bathrooms to view the bakery from above. Vitezna 5.

On the newer side, I really enjoyed the new coffee house/café Archa Barista, opened in 2013. It has a warm old-world atmosphere with some contemporary touches. Na Porici 24.
