On my last trip, I spent one night in Vail and one in Beaver Creek. I am glad that I did. On the trip before, I visited both Vail and Beaver Creek on a beautiful August day. On both trips, both were full of families on vacation. I have been to both resorts several times over the years including ski season. As a planned development, there are no historic properties, but you will find some great restaurants, shopping, resorts and outside activities at both. I was impressed with all of the new offerings and some of the new modern additions to Vail in particular.

Vail Village

Vail was developed to look like a Tyrolean village. On my recent trip, it was beautiful with all of the flowers and blue skies. The Village was hopping. You can park in the public garage so you can then walk easily through the pedestrian friendly Village.

Beaver Creek

Make sure to visit  nearby Minturn, Edwards and Avon which all have great restaurants and activities.

  1. Beaver Creek FISH restaurant. It’s awesome and quite an experience. Expensive.
Arrowhead (2 minutes from Beaver Creek) and 2 minutes from the town of Edwards.
Arrowhead Country Club is located there. They have a restaurant called Vistas that is amazing. Mickey plays on the Piano nightly from 6-9 pm. Wonderful time!
Oso Bucco is incredible. Fantastic views!
Sunelap (spelling not exact). Located on Singletree Golf Course. Fabulous Happy Hour and views of the valley.
In Edwards. Gore Street Brewery, local micro brewery and good food.
