There are some great restaurant choices in Hong Kong, from the very casual to very high end.

There are nice bars and restaurants in SoHo. Take the escalator for fun. This runs up hill in Central. Everyone says that Elgin, Shelley and Staunton Streets are excellent places to find a drink or a bite to eat.

You have to have tea at the Peninsula Hotel in Kowloon. It is a must. You will feel like you are in a different era.

You also have to go to Luk Yu Teahouse for dim sum!!!!!! It is at 24-26 Stanley Street in Central. It is my favorite and I went twice my last trip. Order the dumplings from the menu. It looks like a movie set right out of old Hong Kong. Go early around noon as the locals eat at 1pm.

If you like tea, check out one of the locations of the Ying Kee Tea House.

There are many restaurants in the Lan Kwai Fong area to try. My favorite in the Fringe was M-at the Fringe which has since closed after 20 years, but there are others to choose from.
