Milan has some wonderful food options. Our top restaurant choices include:

Café Trussardi: I had dinner, before the La Scala ballet, at Café Trussardi across the street on Piazza della Scala 5. This is a perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink beneath its glass ceiling with lush plants. Upstairs is the Il Ristorante Trussardi alla Scala which has two Michelin stars. The restaurant opened after the performance started so I was really happy with the Café!!! They have salads, sandwiches and entrees on the menu.

Caffé Alla Scala il Marchesino: I stopped in for a coffee at the sleek café right next door to the Teatro alla Scala at Piazzo della Scala 2. It attracts a well-dressed business crowd.

I enjoyed dinner at Abbottega at Via L Muratori 11. It is a popular local’s spot. They have other restaurants including one in Soho in New York.

Osteria Panetteria looks like another great spot to check out if you have time.

I had lunch at the Osteria Al Coniglio Blanco (white rabbit) along the canal at Alzaia Naviglio Grande 12. I especially enjoyed grilled squid, potatoes and green beens and spaghetti with mussels. It is a popular spot with the local business people nearby.

Have a cappuccino at Conti Café at Via Montenapoleone 19. Here you will find a sleek café, lounge area and restaurant.

A friend also recommends Peck grocery, Pasticceria Marchesi for pastries and a cappucino and Da Claudio for fish.
