There are some very good dining options in Spring Green. I recommend:

Riverview Terrace Cafe: This is a fine dining restaurant in the Taliesin visitors center overlooking the river below. The setting is lovely and it is the only restaurant designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I had a great pheasant entree with lovely sauce, rice pilaf and vegetable while enjoying a spectacular sunset. 5607 Highway C.

Freddie Valentine’s Public House: A fun restaurant and pub in an historic bank building in downtown Spring Green. It has a great atmosphere and good food and is one of the best in town. 114 West Jefferson.

Driftless Depot Organic Market, Deli and Cafe: A small gourmet grocery that has a small cafe. I enjoyed a good, casual lunch with quiche, salad and a great pumpkin soup. They also have coffee and espresso drinks. On Friday evenings you might try their Trout Dinner, often with music. They also offer wines by the glass and beer by local microbreweries. 140 S. Winsted.

Arcadia Books: This is a local, independent bookstore at 102 E. Jefferson. The Kitchen at Arcadia Books offers tea, coffee, wines by the glass, bottled beers, baked good, sandwiches and soups, salads plus picnic items and items to go.

Arthur’s Supper Club: Well known for steaks and seafood. Highways 14 and 23.

Rick’s Bakery has a lot of atmosphere and is where many of the locals gather for coffee. 130 W. Jefferson in downtown Spring Green.
