Downtown Chattanooga has some excellent hotel options, from small inns and attractive boutique properties to larger business hotels. My recent recommendations include:

The Dwell Hotel: I had read about the Dwell Hotel and was excited to visit it while I was in town.  This is a sleek, boutique hotel that is a great place to stay. The building was built in 1909 as The Colonial Hotel. It later became the Stone Fort Inn. I love the mid-century modern design which is full of color in both the rooms and public areas. They have  the sleek Matilda Midnight  restaurant and cocktail lounge. I can’t wait to stay there on my next trip. 120 E. 10th St.

Bluff View Inn: The Bluff View Arts District is a unique neighborhood and a perfect spot to stay when you are in town. The Inn is a lovely B&B with sixteen rooms located in three different historic homes, all traditionally decorated and very attractive. The surrounding neighborhood has two restaurants, a coffee shop, art gallery and two museums and a sculpture park to explore. 411 E. Second St.

Chattanoogan Hotel: This is a large hotel on the southern part of downtown that is more of a business hotel, but has attractive rooms and a nice restaurant for breakfast. I enjoyed my time there on my recent trip. 1201 Broad St.

I also just read in Forbes about the recently opened Edwin Hotel, an Autograph Collection Hotel. It has 90 rooms, the Whitebird restaurant and Whiskey Thief, an attractive rooftop bar. It looks like a wonderful place to stay. Travel + Leisure in 2019 named it the #10 City Hotel in Continental U.S.. 102 Walnut St.
