I found that Naples hotels can be somewhat expensive if you travel there in the high season. The off-season might be a good time to go, or you can certainly find some less expensive options. The restaurants will also be less crowded. My top recommendations include:

Inn of Naples: A very good value a short drive north of downtown and Old Naples. I enjoyed a king room. Breakfast is included in the room rate. 4055 Tamiami Trail (Rt 41) North.

Inn of Naples

Inn on 5th: An upscale boutique hotel at 699 5th Avenue South. It has a lovely restaurant, Avenue 5, on the first floor. It also features Club Level Suites across the street.

La Playa Beach & Golf Resort is a lovely property located along the beach in Pelican Bay. 9891 Gulf Shore Drive. A short distance away, The Inn at Pelican Bay is also recommended.

Hotel Escalante: This is a charming, small boutique hotel that is located in Old Naples in close proximity to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The rates are higher from December to April, but are reduced and reasonable from May 1st to the end of September. They also have a restaurant, the Veranda E, open for lunch and dinner and Bakery E, ope for breakfast. 290 Fifth Ave. South. I would definitely stay here on my next trip.
