Inman Park is a trendy, up and coming area of the city east of downtown with restaurants, shops and residential development.
I found Cacao, artisan chocolate makers, at 312 C N. Highland and a cool store selling mid-century furniture and accessories called City Issue Atlanta at 325 Elizabeth St. NE.
Barcelona Atlanta Wine Bar: I saw this listed in Travel + Leisure as one of America’s best wine bars, so I decided to host a group of friends for drinks and tapas. It is located at 240 N. Highland. It is attractive and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The tapas were good and the design was very contemporary. The staff could not have been more accommodating. It is a popular spot so go early.
You might also try Pure Taqueria at 300 N. Highland Ave. N.E., if you are in the mood for Mexican Food and a margarita.
Recently opened is the Krog Street Market with over 20 restaurants, stores and food purveyors. This is high on my list for my next visit. 99 Krog St.
