Palm Springs has some great hotels. After two trips to explore, our top choices include:

Desert Riviera, 610 E. Palm Canyon Drive: I stayed at this small property for the second time. The hotel has mid-century styled rooms with kitchenettes surrounding a small pool. The property is perfectly located, nicely decorated and the service is superb. It is great value!

Ace Hotel: This is the hot hotel for the younger LA crowd with its kitschy and mod decor. The pool is a real scene with music and large crowds.

The Saguaro Palm Springs,  At 1800 E. Palm Canyon Drive, this is the new hip place in town with a vibrant color palate and great design that has transformed an old Holiday Inn resort. Make sure to try their El Jefe Restaurant which has a lovely patio near the pool. The colorful pool area is a highlight.

Alcazar Hotel, 622 N. Palm Canyon: If you want to stay downtown, this is a good option. Here you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are very contemporary in design.

The Parker Palm Springs: Located at 4200 E. Palm Canyon Drive, the Parker Palm Springs Hotel is an excellent property with fun restaurants, beautiful grounds and pools. The hotel looks like it has been there for years. Norma’s is the perfect spot for a Sunday brunch on the patio with its colored canvas roof panels. Mister Parker’s is the restaurant in the hotel for dinner which looks very dark like an old supper club in the days of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
