I love love love Healdsburg CA in northern Sonoma County and have been there four times. I enjoy the wonderful square with its great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and galleries. It is close to the beautiful Alexander Valley and the equally beautiful Dry Creek Valley. I am partial to Zinfandels so this is the place to be! It doesn’t seem as crowded as Napa and, in my opinion, you get a little closer to the vineyards and the land. The focus seems to be all food and wine!!

There is so much to do and see, great wines to drink and sample and the best food to eat! There are some wonderful hotels as well. Make sure to check out my recommendations.

Check out listing for the RavenTheater in Healdsburg for a theater performance or the Jazz Festival in June if you have any energy after eating and drinking all day!

There are some great stores and galleries in town. I like Erickson Fine Art Gallery at 324 Healdsburg Avenue and make it a point to always stop in.

I also like basing myself in Healdsburg for visiting the Sonoma wineries, the Alexander Valley and Russian River wineries. Though I prefer staying in Healdsburg, Sonoma is worth a visit. There are a number of wineries and tasting rooms that my local friends enjoy.

On my  next trip I want to explore the western part of the county along the Russian River and even going to the coast to Bodega Bay. The Farm House Inn and Restaurant, in Forestville CA, is on my list since I have seen it continually pop up on the best places to stay and eat lists. The restaurant has won several top awards awards.
