For a day trip from Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo, or for an overnight stay don’t miss Cayucos.
This is a small beach town southwest of Paso Robles founded in the 1870s. You should drive down when it is light to enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can see some of the old structures along Ocean Avenue. You can also walk along the beach and the old pier. You will find a number of bars and restaurants.
Brown Butter Cookie Company: At 98 N. Ocean Ave., stop in for some of their brown butter sea salt cookies. They are really great!
