There are some fun, casual spots to eat in Matlacha. Sunday is a good time to visit. Though crowded, many of the spots have live music. Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ian in September, 2022, some sites, restaurants and hotels might be closed. So please check before you travel.

Olde Fish House Marina: I thoroughly enjoyed this casual restaurant overlooking the water. I thought the grouper Reuben was really outstanding and was worth the trip!! 4530 Pine Island Rd. NW.

Blue Dog Bar & Grill at 4597 Pine Island Rd. NW: They have a large number of starters including crab cakes and conch fritters, salads, fish and shrimp tacos, sandwiches, burgers plus fish, chicken and fish entrees that can be customized to your liking with various toppings and preparation.

Bert’s Bar & Grill was packed with people listening to music both inside and outside on the patio. They feature appetizers like coconut shrimp, baskets of fish and chips, shrimp and chips or fried oysters and chips, plus shrimp and fish tacos.
