The Taos Pueblo is fascinating to visit. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and a National Historic Landmark. Constructed of adobe with the traditional wooden ladders, The Pueblo has been occupied for over a 1000 years. There was an established civilization there when Europe was still in the Dark Ages. Architecturally it is one of the most spectacular of the northern New Mexico pueblos. People are still living there and honoring their traditions. Taos artists are noted for their mica-flecked pottery, tanned buckskin moccasins, silver jewelry and their wonderful drums. When you visit, you will have an opportunity to learn about the history and culture, as well as purchase fine arts and crafts.
