I stayed at the Park Hotel Tokyo which is located on the 25th floor of the “Shiodome Media Tower” at the corner of Media City Shiodome, the new center of business and culture. There was a good restaurant in the hotel, plus there were many good restaurants in the buildings nearby, including Shiodome City Center, at very reasonable prices. I found that restaurants tend to specialize in specific cuisine, such as sushi, sukiyaki, tempura and yakitori or even by ingredients like tofu. Remember that the city is huge and after exploring the city all day, it was great coming back to the hotel and eating close by.
I did enjoy tempura at Ginza Tenkuni which has been in business since 1885. It is in Ginza on Chuo St.

Chicago friends just told me about a great experience they had recently with Tokyo Memories. This is a company that offers several food tours of Tokyo including street food, sake and traditional Japanese izakaya. I am excited to sign up for one when I am back in Japan!
I recently took a food tour in Queens when visiting New York City through Culinary Backstreets. I was very impressed with the quality and the local guide. They currently offer a tour in the Kichijoji neighborhood in Tokyo. I recommend that you check into them when you are in town. I am excited to try one on my next visit.
