Hudson has some lovely small boutique hotels, B&B’s and inns from which to stay and explore the area. Unfortunately the inn where I stayed and several other popular inns have recently closed. But there are many great options to choose from:

The Howard Hotel at 216 Warren St. is a seven room boutique hotel. The restaurant next door Ca’Mea, once owned by the same owners, has closed, but was replaced by Via Cassia. I went on my recent visit in July 2026 and had a wonderful meal with local friends.
I also just learned about the new WM. Farmer and Sons Boarding & Barroom at 20 S. Front. Street. This boutique property has beautifully designed rooms and a restaurant, bar and coffee shop. I had dinner at the Barroom and the food was excellent.
The Wick Hotel is a contemporary, 55-room boutique option in town that is a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott. 41 Cross St. It also has a restaurant and lobby bar. I stayed there in July 2026 on my recent trip and enjoyed my stay there. It is a short walk to the downtown area and Warren St. and has free parking in several lots. It is conveniently located near the train station if you want to take the train from NYC and not have to drive. The rates are also reasonable. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast menu was very good. They will be closing at the end of November 2026 for a four-month room and lobby upgrade.
It is housed in a repurposed 1860s candle factory, thus the name.
The Maker Hotel is a beautiful addition to downtown Hudson. Opened in 2020, it is a very stylish boutique property which “features work from local Hudson valley craftsmen, global artisans, one of kind vintage pieces and an extensive art collection that truly celebrates the world of makers.” It also has a cafe, restaurant and lounge. 302 Warren. St.
The Mount Merino Manor B&B is also highly rated. It is located in a home from 1870 on 100 wooded acres outside of town.
Both the NY Times and Travel + Leisure recently liked the newly opened Rivertown Lodge at 731 Warren St. Housed in a former 1920s cinema and mid-century motor inn, this 27-room boutique hotel features custom vintage-modern decor, an open-plan lobby with wood-burning stoves and an on-site restaurant called Pez. Recommended by my local friends, this is a coastal Mexican restaurant, with a James Beard nominated chef.
