In a city known for its art and design, there are some great stores and shops in Antwerp. I highly recommend:
International 14: This is a wonderful antiques and home furnishings store at Kloosterstraat 14. Owned by American Christina Van Steenbergen de Resta who studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and who once had an antiques store in Charleston SC, it is an example of a store with great style.
Scapa Home: At Arenbergstraat 12-14, this is a great store featuring interior decoration, gifts, furniture and linens.
Gunther Watte: Gunther is a local candy artisan who makes his own chocolates and has a tea room with chocolates, teas, coffees and pastries. It is a lovely spot on Steenhouwersvest 30, near the Museum Plantin Moretus/Prentenkabinet. The chocolate was great and the tea perfect.
