Captiva Island is an upscale community north of Sanibel with many private homes. There is a charming, colorful village with a number of shops, hotels and restaurants.  Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Ian in September, 2022, some sites, restaurants and hotels might be closed. So please check before you travel. Make sure to try:

The Bubble Room: This a fun spot for lunch in a space filled with toys, antiques, music and Hollywood memorabilia from the 30’s and 40’s. They have a large selections of salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups.

Captiva House Restaurant ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa

I have always heard of the South Seas Island Resort (formerly the South Seas Plantation), and it is very large with nine restaurants, plus rooms, condos, cottages, villas and homes for rent. There is golf and many activities.

I really like the ‘Tween Waters Inn Island Resort & Spa which is smaller and more manageable. It has a beach on the Gulf and a Marina on the Bay. There are rooms as well as 16 charming cottages. The Captiva House restaurant is really lovely. There is the Crow’s Nest Beach Bar & Grille and the Oasis Pool Bar is very popular for lunch. 15951 Captiva Drive.
