Chicago’s Little Italy on Taylor Street has some great restaurants to explore. Don’t miss:
Scafuri Bakery: A neighborhood institution since 1904. This is a great spot for a coffee or pastry, cookie or pie. 1337 W. Taylor St.
Chez Joel: This is a wonderful French bistro in the middle of Little Italy. I have always enjoyed the food and highly recommend it. 1119 W. Taylor.
In the summer, don’t miss Mario’s Italian Lemonade featuring wonderful Italian ices. 1068 W. Taylor.
Not far from Taylor St. is a great new find, Jade Court Chinese Cuisine at 262 S. Racine. The owners of Phoenix in Chinatown sold the restaurant and opened this new spot in 2016. It has a nice, comfortable dining room and feature a large number of Chinese dishes. I went for dim sum which is served daily. It was always my favorite at Phoenix and continues to be good here.
