Located below the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, this area, containing some wonderful old brick warehouse buildings, has a great selection of retail stores, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. There are residential buildings as well, some with more contemporary architecture including 60 Water.

Fun for families is Jane’s Carousel, an antique carousel from 1922 with 48 carved horses. The horses were all beautifully restored and installed in a beautiful pavilion, overlooking the East River, that opened in 2011. It can be found along the river between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
