When deciding where to eat in Marrakesh, I can recommend the following:
Have lunch at Dar Cherifa, a light-filled riad cafe that doubles as a contemporary art gallery. It is at 8 Derb Chorfa Lakbir 524-39-16-09.
Dar Yacout: This restaurant is not to be missed!! Not only is it listed in the 1000 Places to See Before You Die Book by Patricia Schultz it is right out of a movie set. Located in the Medina in a 200 year-old house, there are courtyards, fountains, rose petals, candles and tiles everywhere. I loved listening to the traditional music while enjoying my favorite Moroccan dishes. It has something for all of the senses!
Other recommendations include Le Tobsil, set in an old palace in the Medina, Al Fassia, Dar Essalam, Bo-Zin, Djellabar, Le Studio, Le Grand Café de La Poste, Terrasse des Epices, Cafe Clock – an outpost of the Fez cafe, La Maison Arabe, Le Salama, Cafe Arabe in the Medina, Le Zinc and Villa Rosa for French Cuisine.
