Pebble Beach is just North of Carmel-by-the-Sea along the coast. The first stop is The Lodge at Pebble Beach where you should stop in for a meal, drink, coffee or tea overlooking the water and the golf course. It has been there since 1919. My Father met Salvador Dali in the bar in 1943 on the way to WWII in the South Pacific.
There is a $10.50 toll when entering Pebble Beach, but this can be refunded with a purchase of $35 or more at one of the restaurants.
The 17 mile drive takes you through several golf courses and some wonderful scenery and overlooks of the beach. Make sure to stop and see the The Lone Cypress, which has been there along the coast for over 250 years and is one of California’s top landmarks. I never miss it when I am in the area!
