My local friends rave about Judith Racht Gallery located right off of Red Arrow Highway at 13689 Prairie Rd. They have a number of her pieces in their new home. I have been in the past to their Outsiders Outside Art Fair, held every Labor Day Weekend for over 20 years featuring outsider folk and visionary art.
On my recent trip, I enjoyed dinner at Cafe Gulistan, a casual spot, offering Kurdish cuisine along with Turkish and Lebanese wines. I thought the food was excellent. I enjoyed the combo platter and the grilled shrimp marinated in a curry, lemon sauce and served with an apricot chutney, basmati rice and vegetables. The Lebanese red wine was very good as well.
