We are all going through a very stressful and overwhelming period of cancelled trips and travel plans, rebooking flights, trying to get refunds from airlines plus staying home and not knowing when this will pass. I feel it is very important that we continue to dream of future trips and remember the fun adventures of where we have been in the past, through reading our travel journals and looking at our old photographs. I am home in Chicago where I am surrounded by my art, treasures and souvenirs that I have collected during 48 years of traveling abroad. I have been watching performances from the Metropolitan Opera, plays from the National Theatre in London, working on a travel map of the countries that I have visited and looking through catalogues from past museum art exhibitions that I have seen and loved. But most importantly, I am focused on keeping the content on Globalphile.com updated and fresh, so that when you can get back on the road, it will continue to be a great resource. It will be there, ready for you, when you are deciding where to go next and how to have the best travel experiences. In addition, I hope that we all can continue to support our local restaurants, which are struggling at this time. I just went to my favorite neighborhood sushi spot for takeout last night! Stay healthy and again, let’s dream of our future adventures!
One big favor. It is so sad that many of my restaurant, cafe, retail store and hotel recommendations may be closed permanently due to the Covid19 Pandemic. I am doing my best to keep the content fresh, but if you find a closed business, please email me through the website so I can make any changes.
