Ann Arbor

There are some great music venues to experience in this famed college town. Recommended venues include:

The Ark: At 316 S. Main, this is a well-known live music club with performances over 300 nights per year.

The Ark

Hill Auditorium: With 3,538 seats, Hill Auditorium is the largest performance venue on the University of Michigan campus. I was excited to have seen a performance City of Birmingham Symphony from Birmingham England with a local friend.  It is a beautiful concert hall.  The University has four other performance venues.

The University Musical Society offers performances of University Philharmonia Orchestra, jazz, chamber music recitals, dance performances, and theater and musicals like Rent. For example in 2022/2023  the schedule includes Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis,  the Danish String Quartet, the Berliner Philarmoniker, Audra McDonald, Itzak Perlman, Joshua Bell on violin and many more.

Kerrytown Concert House: At 415 N. Fourth Ave., this is a small 110-seat venue with a diverse performance schedule including classical music, cabaret and jazz.

Located in a former movie palace, the State Theater in downtown Ann Arbor, is operated with the Michigan Theater nearby. They feature films and music events throughout the year.
