I took the Westlake street car to Lake Union. I walked along the boat docks, saw the rows of colorful houseboats which were made famous by the movie, “Sleepless in Seattle”, and the Center for Wooden Boats and Seattle Seaplanes. I walked back along Westlake and Terry Avenues. Restaurateur Tom Douglas has five restaurants in this fast emerging area of town. I opted for the causal Portage Bay Café, at 391 Terry Avenue, which was totally packed for Saturday brunch with a very young crowd. The food was great and the toppings bar, for their popular oatmeal and pancakes, was full with mounds of blue berries, raspberries and strawberries.
