While in Bogotá, I think it is best to stay on the North side, which is a very nice and attractive neighborhood and then visit the other areas like the Centro Historico during the day. The North side is safe, with many hotels and restaurants to choose from.
My top choice is the B•O•G• Hotel. At Carrera 11 # 86-74, this is a contemporary design hotel, with attractive rooms, a sleek bar and restaurant and a popular rooftop bar. The staff was so helpful in arranging transportation to and from the airport, arranging for taxis to the nearby restaurants and for helping me find a great guide for two days of exploring the city. They also have a nice breakfast buffet included in the room rate. My experience was excellent and I highly recommend staying there.
The W Hotel is a boutique hotel centrally located near the embassies, restaurants and entertainment downtown. It was included on Wallpaper* Magazine’s ‘Best Urban Hotels’ list.
