My top pick in Silver City is the Murray Hotel at 200 W. Broadway. Located in the heart of downtown this is a hotel that opened in 1938 and became a symbol of luxury and prosperity. After years of being closed, it took the current owners seven years to restore the hotel to its original Art Deco style. My room with king bed was nicely appointed with great furniture and bedding. There is no air conditioning, but fans are provided. It does cool off nicely in the evenings since you are in the mountains. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided.
Outside of town, Bear Mountain Lodge get excellent reviews. This historic inn sits on 178 secluded acres which provides easy access to hiking, cycling, horseback riding, bird watching, nature study and wilderness.
