With out any doubt our top hotel pick to stay is The Imperial Hotel. This is the award winning, old British Colonial hotel that opened in the 1930’s that is intertwined with Indian history. The rooms are wonderful as is the art. There are several hotel restaurants. The 1911 Restaurant has a wonderful terrace for breakfast which is the perfect spot to start your day. The Spice Route is an award winning restaurant that reflects the journey of spices from the Malabar Coast in Kerala through Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia to Thailand and Vietnam. The food was really excellent.
