There are some fun, casual spots to eat in Matlacha. Sunday is a good time to visit. Though crowded, many of the spots have live music. I found the following:

Olde Fish House Marina: I thoroughly enjoyed this casual restaurant overlooking the water. I thought the grouper Reuben was really outstanding and was worth the trip!! 4530 Pine Island Rd. NW.

Blue Dog Bar & Grill at 4597 Pine Island Rd. NW: They have a large number of starters including crab cakes and conch fritters, salads, fish and shrimp tacos, sandwiches, burgers plus fish, chicken and fish entrees that can be customized to your liking with various toppings and preparation.
