I found some excellent dining options in Mendocino, CA. My top recommendations include:
Café Beaujolais: A lovely restaurant in an historic home featuring locally grown, produce, meat and fish. They have their own garden on the grounds. I loved the comfortable atmosphere. I had a lovely California sturgeon fillet served with golden beets, snap peas and wild mushrooms, served on a tagliatelle pasta with a truffle infusion. The wine was excellent as was the blackberry sorbet with biscotti. 961 Ukiah St.
The Brickery is their casual bakery behind the restaurant offering daily fresh bread and woodfired pizzas for lunch from Friday through Sunday.
Mendocino Cafe: Local’s recommend this as a great spot for American, Mexican, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. 10451 Lansing.
Frankie’s: For good ice cream, stop in at Frankies at 44951 Ukiah. They serve coffee, tea, pizza and falafel as well.
GoodLife Cafe and Bakery: This is a great spot for bakery items and coffee located at 10483 Lansing St.
The Fog Eater Cafe is a vegetarian restaurant that is also popular. 45104 Main St. at Albion.
MacCallum House Restaurant: I enjoyed a lovely dinner on the glass enclosed porch at this fine dining restaurant located in the MacCallum House boutique hotel. It features local, seasonal, organic Northern California cuisine. I loved watching the sunset along the coast as I had a sea bass entree in an uni or sea urchin sauce with mushroom and potato hash and a small arugula salad with orange sections.
“Foodie” friends in Chicago just back from Mendocino loved Wild Fish restaurant two miles south in Little River and Trillium Cafe in Mendocino at 10390 Kasten St.
The popular 955 Ukiah Street Restaurant has closed and it is now Luna Trattoria which moved to Mendocino from Ft. Bragg. It features Northern Italian dishes.
