There are many good dining options to explore in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach. Our top recommendations include:
Cafe Boulud: The restaurant by famed chef Daniel Boulud is located within the stunning Brazilian Court Hotel at 301 Australian Ave. I enjoyed a lovely meal in the dining room as the outdoor patio was a little chilly. I enjoyed a beautifully prepared mahi mahi entree and a lovely sorbet.
Buccan: I enjoyed a very good meal with friends at this Palm Beach favorite, known for it innovative American cuisine. It has been featured recently in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. 350 South County Road.
In addition to Buccan, chef Clay Conley also has Imoto next door for Japanese and Asian cuisine featuring sushi, sashimi, dumplings, tempura and wood fired specialties. His more casual Grato restaurant in West Palm Beach has received great press for its Italian specialties and pastas and wood fired pizzas. 1901 S. Dixie Hwy. Conley was named a 2018 James Beard Award Semifinalist for Best Chef Southeast.
Also in West Palm is Lindsay Autry’s THE REGIONAL Kitchen and Public House. She was named a semifinalist in 2020 for the James Beard Award for Best Chef South. I am excited to visit when I am back in town. 651 Okeechobee Blvd.
Renato’s, 87 Via Mizner: Since 1987, this is a popular Italian restaurant, with an elegant, warm atmosphere. They also have a lovely patio for dining as well. My local friends always enjoy it for lunch or dinner.
Ta-boo: A popular American bistro, at 221 Worth Ave, opened originally in 1941. After several ownership changes, it has now been operated by the same team since 1990. It is said, “if you were not seen at Ta-boo, you were not seen in town.”
Pizza al Fresco, 14 Via Mizner: A fun Italian restaurant, since 1987, located in a courtyard on Worth Ave. Thanks to my local guest, I tried and loved the lobster salad. The outdoor patio is the place to sit.
They also have Al Fresco at The Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course located at 2345 S. Ocean Blvd. The views are spectacular so make this a destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Cafe Flora, 240 Worth Ave.: A charming Italian restaurant located on the south side of Worth Ave. in a lovely courtyard.
The Leopard Lounge & Restaurant at The Chesterfield Palm Beach: At 363 Cocoanut Row, this is a popular bar and restaurant that features live music nightly. It is popular for dancing late in the evening.
Other fun spots off of Worth Ave. include Sprinkles Ice Cream for coffee or ice cream at 279 Royal Poinciana Way or Echo at 230A Sunrise Ave is known for great sushi.
Local friends also like and recommend Trevini which has a new location, PB Catch, and Palm Beach Grill. Palm Beach Grill now also has the Honor Bar next door for sandwiches, small bites and craft cocktails.
In January, 2019, Chef Mauro Colagreco, who is behind the #1 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Mirazur in Menton, France opened Florie’s at the Four Season Resort in Palm Beach. This is an upscale restaurant featuring Mediterranean cuisine and his first restaurant in the US. 2800 S. Ocean Blvd.
Others you might try include Bice Ristorante, part of the upscale Italian restaurant chain, at 313 Worth Ave. and Kitchen, a contemporary American brasserie in West Palm Beach at 319 Belvedere Rd. that has received excellent reviews. I also read that the Avocado Grill in West Palm Beach is a great choice for locally sourced ingredients, a raw bar and a combination of small, medium and large plates. 125 Datura St.
