Where to Stay in Hudson, NY

HudsonThe Hudson Valley

Hudson has some great small boutique hotels, B&B’s and inns from which to stay and explore the area:

Tiger House:  When I was there it was called The Inn at Hudson. It is now under new ownership and is called Tiger House. It still gets very good reviews. This is a lovely B&B/inn in a wonderfully restored old mansion in downtown Hudson. Its intricate carvings, Mercer tiles, original Tiffany stained glass windows, and elaborate woodwork are still intact.

It is a convenient walk to shopping and restaurants. My room was large and beautifully decorated. The public spaces are equally elegant. Breakfast is included. What a great find! You feel like you are living in a different age.

Other good options in town include:

The Croff House comes highly recommended. Ca’ Mea, the well-known restaurant, also has a guest house and two B&B’s.

The Mount Merino Manor B&B is also highly rated. It is located in a home from 1870 on 100 wooded acres outside of town.

Recent articles recommend The Barlow, a Hudson Hotel and Union St. Guest House. Both the NY Times and Travel + Leisure recently liked the newly opened Rivertown Lodge at the top of Warren St. (#731)

I also just learned about the new WM. Farmer and Son Boarding & Barroom at 120 S. Front. Street. This boutique property has beautifully designed rooms and a restaurant, bar and coffee shop.

The Wick Hotel is a contemporary boutique option in town that is a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott. 41 Cross St. It also has a restaurant and lobby bar.

The Maker Hotel is a new addition to downtown Hudson. It is a very stylish boutique property which “features work from local Hudson valley craftsmen, global artisans, one of kind vintage pieces and an extensive art collection that truly celebrates the world of makers.” It also has a cafe, restaurant and lounge. 302 Warren. St.
